Courses Pop Piano Fees and Duration

The school has created a unique complete syllabus to train our
students into effective pop keyboardists through the aural
approach.

Our instructors will start you off with the secrets of keyboarding and understanding how to play music the pop way. You will need to play and improvise, which is in contrast to the classical approach whereby emphasis is placed on music theory.

You will discover the concepts of rhythm and time, thus applying
different styles to different songs.

Ultimately, you will be able to translate the music you hear into chords and rhythm yourself. Lastly, the instructors will impart their skills on band playing and stage performance as well.

guitarist.

Ever wanted to start learning to play a musical instrument but feel bogged down by having zero musical background? Introducing the cute and charming ukulele, which is rapidly gaining its popularity in Singapore. Being one of the easiest instruments to learn since there are only 4 strings, it is comparatively easier to pick up than the guitar.

Students will learn how to master the instrument in a short period of time and be able to sing and play at the same time! With the fulfilment of being able to play ukulele, students are able to gain confidence in learning other music instruments as they cultivate their interests in music playing.

“Stage 1 : Fundamental Stage
This stage serves as a cornerstone for people who do not have
any musical background to eventually be able to identify, play
and write their own songs. For students with adequate classical
training or pop-piano training, they can skip this stage and
proceed to Stage 2 immediately.

Essential knowledge on keyboard playing and keyboard functions

– 6 basic chords – C, Dm, Em, F, G, Am and their application.
– Basic accompaniment styles using pop songs
– Basic melody / bass playing using jingles and pop songs

Students will be trained to be able to play their own songs using
the piano in accompaniment style or chord/melody style.
Stage 3 : Advanced Stage
Upon entering this stage, students are expected to be well versed
in the usage of chords. Students will gain more studio experience in
this stage of their learning. They will be exposed to different
genres of music, music arrangement (using sequencing software
like Cubase SX (original) and ProtoolsFree) and they will have a
chance for their songs to be arranged into a decent demo, with
vocals recorded too.

– Expose students to songs of different genres: Rock, Heavy metal, Hip Hop, Rap, Blues, New Age, Dance and Techno, Country, Jazz etc.

1st term project is to write a song in a genre other
than Ballads.

Courses Music Production

Be the next successful musician of the era!
This course aims to provide a complete step-by-step learning to Music Production. Students are given the opportunity to experience working in a recording studio and each student will be provided professional music sequencing systems for hands-on in classes. Reference materials and handouts will be given to all students and a library of music cds will be provided for as well. At the end of the course, each student will have an opportunity to arrange, record, edit, mix and master their own production using a song example or their own demos.

Student who excel in the course will have a chance to work along with arrangers and producers on albums and commercial projects.

1) Introduction to Professional Studio Recording (Pre-production, Production, Post-Production)

2) Basics of setting up your personal Home Studio: Learn how to plan and configure your Home Studio hardware components such as Mics, Instruments, Mixer, Monitors, Digital Audio Workstations (DAWs) and PC Systems

3) Music Arrangement: A step by step approach to learning how to arrange professional sounding backing music for your songs using basic Midi on Professional Music Sequencers. Course covers basic understanding of different instruments’ application in different music styles and genres as well as usage of great sounding melody, chords and grooves.
Students will learn how to develop musical ideas and edit and create your own synthesized sounds.

4) Studio Recording: Working with Multiple Audio tracks such as vocals and other recording of live instruments (eg. Guitars). Course
covers technical knowledge of audio recording and students will receive hands-on experience of recording in a real recording studio. Usage of samples and sample loops will be covered and students will learn to edit
Audio Files and understand and use standard audio effects for best results. Topics such as pitch-correction, applying fades, correcting envelopes and other common editing methods will be covered.

5) Mixing and Mastering: Understand and use standard audio effects in post-production for the best results. Students will learn to mix multitrack audio projects and covers topics such as Equalization (EQ), Panning, Compression, Gating, Filters, Limiters and Noise Reduction.
